I'm - as a new rider - just about to get my first bike, a 1980 XS650 SG from
a friend (240000 kms on it).

Could somebody send me ANYTHING about this particular model (including
manuals, tips, stories, etc.)

Thank you very much in advance!

(I don't want to be a cross-poster, just want to make sure somebody will
response to this post at one of the two YAM groups)

I had an SG also. Great bike. Keep it in tune and they go forever.
One thing I did do is drop two teeth from the rear sprocket. If you commute
w/ it, it makes it much nicer at speed.
