We're going to look at a '76 Honda CB750F and need to know where the VIN#(s)
are. Should it have a number on the frame and a matching number on the
engine or just a single number in one place or another?

Thanks!

A number on the frame and one on the engine. The engine number will not
match the frame sequential number but the ID numbers should be the same.
Gooseneck and on a cast boss on the engine. I am not where I can go out
and look at mine right now.

Thanks for the quick response! I'll rest a little easier. I know on Harleys
they gotta match or some local law enforcement type is likely to give you
and your bike a lift to town. 8>(

I guess we'll take the trailer and some cash and see whether we come home
with something or not. Might be just another interesting afternoon .... or
maybe we'll have another project.

If they can't produce a title make sure to call a cop and have them run the
VIN
before carting it off.
